LONDON -- When it comes to social media, celebrities are always just a throwaway sentence away from becoming a meme.

Following a recent decision in India to add the likes of Harry Potterand Tintinto the school syllabus, actress and UK Celebrity Big Brotherwinner Shilpa Shetty told The Times of Indiawhat she thought about the decision.

It was all going well until she mentioned Animal Farm.

For anyone who hasn't read George Orwell's book, there's not a whole lot of animal care involved; the story is actually a fairly grim allegory of events surrounding the Russian Revolution and Stalinist regime.

It wasn't long before Shetty's comments had grabbed the attention of Twitter, and a hashtag -- #ShilpaShettyReviews -- began trending.

On Wednesday, Shetty took to Twitter to respond to the hashtag, saying that she'd never actually read the books mentioned and calling it a "misunderstanding".

Despite the jokes, some fans were quick to stick up for her.
