So here's Liz Cheney's kid dressed as Hillary Clinton's emails for Halloween     DATE: 2024-06-16 03:02:03

The FBI announced Friday that it would review emails "pertinent to the investigation" of Hillary Clinton's use of a personal email server during her time as secretary of state.

The review is not a "reopening" of the case as some had suggested, and it remains unclear if the emails feature anything of significance. But after the month the GOP has had with the fallout of Donald Trump's now infamous "locker room" talk, Republicans will take what they can get.

Renewed interest in Clinton's emails comes at an inopportune time for the campaign as both presidential candidates ride out the final week before Election Day. The FBI closed its investigation in July after recommending no charges be filed against Clinton for her use of a personal email server.

On Friday, the FBI announced it would review emails discovered during a separate investigation to determine if they are connected to Clinton. Those emails belong to Huma Abedin, a top aide for Clinton and the estranged wife of Anthony Weiner, the disgraced congressman under investigation for allegedly exchanging sexually-charged texts with a 15-year-old girl. Abedin's emails came to light after the FBI seized Weiner's computer during its investigation. The FBI isn't likely to conclude its review before Nov. 8.
