Everyone's laughing at Facebook's boomer rebrand to FACEBOOK     DATE: 2024-05-23 04:44:57

The Facebook we've come to know over the past 15 years is officially dead. We live in a FACEBOOK era now.

On Monday, Mark Zuckerberg's life-ruining digital baby, Facebook, announced its "New Company Brand," which, among other things includes a new logo that features the name of the social platform written in all capital letters.

In the post, Facebook's Chief Marketing Officer Antonio Lucio explained, "We’re introducing a new company logo and further distinguishing the Facebook company from the Facebook app, which will keep its own branding. The new branding was designed for clarity, and uses custom typography and capitalization to create visual distinction between the company and app."

Essentially, instead of Facebook it will be FACEBOOK. Think regular Facebook, but thicc, screaming, and bloated, with essence of boomer. Seems like a super effective and meaningful change, what do you think?

Zuckerberg's recent testimony before the House Financial Services Committee rekindled concerns about its data management and the company's new cryptocurrency project, Libra. Facebook was also widely criticized for its political ad policy, and many felt that a font change and logo rebrand were quite comical and simple changes for Zuckerberg to make at this time.

Naturally, people didn't pass up the opportunity to poke fun at the Facebook CEO, and quality FACEBOOK memes are rolling out.

While the rebrand might not be a not hit with the Twitter users, there's a chance that the boomers still using Facebook — sorry, FACEBOOK — might really appreciate the familiar all-caps approach to typing.
