Journalists try to figure out the mysterious case of a Trump portrait

It often gets very busy for the media in Washington, D.C., but this time it's for a highly unusual reason.

On Wednesday, Wall Street Journalreporter Richard Rubin noticed some young men carrying a painting of President Donald Trump on Capitol Hill.

He shared the artwork on Twitter, saying the portrait wasn't commissioned and the artist, Barry Wingard, contacted Rep. Mike Kelly.

The young lads said the painting, along with one of Melania, were going to the Vice President Mike Pence's office:

People started to weigh in the mystery by dissecting details of the painting:

However, in an unexpected turn of events, the vice president's spokesperson told BuzzFeed Newsno new artwork was delivered to either the vice president's house or Senate offices:

The artist, Barry Wingard, told BuzzFeed News he painted them because he thinks the president "deserves respect."
