Last night, the guitarist and songwriter launched into a series of confusing, albeit hilarious, tweets battling with an unverified John Mayer account and experimenting with threads.

"Fifth Harmony is a talented group of young ladies," Mayer tweeted before declaring Lauren Jauregui would be the breakout star of the group and retweeting lyrics from "Voicemail."

And naturally, Fifth Harmony fans had a lot to say about it.

Whether or not he was hacked, we gotta admit — Mayer as the Fifth Harmony wouldn't be too bad.
