Firefighters managed to extinguish the flames, and the 40-year-old woman riding as a passenger in the Uber was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

After a DUI test at the scene, the 60-year-old driver of the SUV was taken to the hospital. There, a sample of his blood was taken after police obtained a warrant.

It's still unclear exactly what caused the crash, and some witnesses claim that the SUV did attempt to brake, and there was also some speculation that a blown tire caused the vehicle to lose control.
